|| WHAT THE FUCK IS FOLLOW FRIDAY ||
We all know social media is all about the hashtags. This hashtag is a way of sharing the lurve, you put #FF or #FollowFriday and list your fav peeps, so that others who haven’t known the joy of them can start to follow them too.
I thought I would make it into a mini blog series. Each week I will suggest only one person, but I will tell you why I lurve this person. This year I want to intentionally take the time to tell these movers and shakers how much they encourage, inspire or just make me laugh.
Everyone needs a little nudge every now and again just to be told “You’re a bit excellent you know”
So, here it goes.
It’s funny because I was going to introduce you as my first real life friend to feature in my Follow Friday series, but then I remembered we haven’t actually met. Although we have known each other for over 6 years we are still yet to meet in the flesh.
Kerri and I originally met on a forum for people trying to conceive their second child, which we both did and there was a mere 6 days between our delivery dates and I was online talking to Kerri and some other friends when my waters broke, I have also been in contact with Kerri during my other subsequent labours too. We are still frequently in contact although its not normally as high tense as the “its this it” conversations we have had in the past.
Kerri is a lady of many talents, although she herself would never say that. She writes a beautiful lifestyle and parenting blog over at Some Kind Of Beautiful. She also has a gorgeous and inspiring Instagram page over at @_kezyoga_ and her personal page @kez2031 fills you with warmness and makes you crave a cup of tea and ask when was the last time you read a good book.
One of the things I really love about all of Kerri’s different social media platforms are that they are all very pretty, fresh, feminine and calming. Although no longer my preferred style, Kerri loves a bit of shabby chic. Think beautiful floral prints, bunting, cupcakes. Did I mention she bakes too. Kerri love brands such as Cath Kidston and Emma Bridgewater , you will see their products scattered through out her images *Kerri is not sponsered or endorsed she just loves them.
Kerri is also an amateur photographer
is there anything this girl cant do and she has captured and shared some beautiful images of her children, Tyler (9) and Macie (5). Kerri is a very talented lady and she is very kind too, she is always there for me if I need a moan, to vent or some advice. Kerri herself suffers from anxiety and has started opening up about that through social media and I applaud her for this.
In her own special and unique way she is helping to de stigmatise stress and anxiety. Kerri also talks about social media and how it does not show the whole picture, she speaks about her anxiety and how she looks into my world and wishes she could sometimes be more like me *I am not actually named in the post, but Kerri contacted me, explained it was about me and asked if it was OK for her to publish. She talks about how she wishes she can leave the house without make up, I on the other hand wish I could be organised enough and prioritise that enough to wear make up every day. The grass is always greener, I guess.
I just love this lady and over the years thanks to social media, namely Whatsapp we have been through and shared a lot together, I really do hope that one day we will actually meet.
** To those who don’t follow Kerri, she is truly lovely. Click any of the links check out her social media accounts and I am sure you will fall in love with her just like I did.
Let me know if you do go and check Kerri’s pages out and what you think, also feel free to let me know if you have a recommendation for me to follow.
Much love ans many thanks
